Journalism 190 sample Quiz 2 & 3 questions

The second quiz (Thursday of Week 7) will be over all material after Quiz 1, which means from Week 5 through and including Week 7. Included will be videos, lectures and text-reading material.

Pilgrim urges students to read all text material thoroughly once (and, being guided by material on the J190 Web pages, take notes).

For quiz study, focus on your notes and the material posted on the Web. For video and text-reading summaries on the Web, students should focus on material emphasized in lectures. He regularly details which material is important for each quiz. Students who attend and take good notes, thus, are directed to study the proper material for each exam.

By Monday of Week 7, Pilgrim will give a list of some additional material to be excluded from the quiz.

The following are samples from a previous quarter. J190 MATERIAL CHANGES EACH QUARTER, SO SOME MATERIAL BELOW MAY NOT BE PART OF THE CURRENT QUARTER'S CONTENT.

The Winter 2013 Quiz 2 will be worth 235 points, not 225.

Each quiz this quarter will have 25 matching in a style similar to those below -- concepts, terms, lists to be matched with definitions or answers.

THE Winter 2013 QUIZ 2, unlike the sample below, WILL HAVE TWO SETS OF MATCHING TOTALING 25 ANSWERS -- at 7 points each.

The Winter 2013 Quiz 2 matching will have ONE UNUSED answer after all the blanks have been filled -- in each section.

Side 1 of the quiz will have ONE short-essay question (but, as seen below, will not be exactly like Quiz 1 in that it will NOT have a multiple-choice part).

No key to these samples will be posted.

Pilgrim urges students to use this tool as BEGINNING for their study. The samples on this page DO NOT COVER ALL this quarter's material presented in lecture, readings, videos or the texts.

Some students find study groups and a system of flashcards helpful.
